Gunbarrel United Governance

Charter Members:

Membership is open to all residents, businesses and established and recognized homeowner and neighborhood associations within Gunbarrel.

Member Responsibilities:

•Organizations/Businesses-

•Designate at least one representative to be a Charter member

•Disseminate information from GU to its members

•Ask its members to sign up for email newsletters from GU

•All Charter Members agree to

•Participate in at least 1 out of 4 meetings per calendar year

•Act in good faith to further the mission and goals of Gunbarrel United

The Board:

Gunbarrel United is to be governed by a 5–9-member Board

•Selected by vote of all Charter Members present at the Annual Meeting

•Sets policies and strategic goals

•The Board shall meet at least four (4) times annually.

•The Board shall elect 4 Officers from amongst themselves:

•President, VP, Treasurer and Secretary

•The Board shall select leaders for Priority Focus Areas

Focus Area Leaders:

•Focus Area Leaders shall chair committees to coordinate initiatives, engage stakeholders, and report progress to the Board.

•These roles may be filled by any Charter Members as appointed by the Board.

•Six Priority Focus Areas:

•Betterment of Gunbarrel

•Community Vitality and Social Events

•Community Planning and Development Guidance

•Advocacy Before Government Bodies

•News and Information Sharing

•Urgent Calls to Action
