Gunbarrel United members Bridget, Rob, Donna and Greg showed Boulder City Mayor, Aaron Brockett, and Mayor Pro Tem, Tara Winer, the Gunbarrel library.  Then we toured the grounds outside the library for a potential central park in downtown Gunbarrel.  We also looked at the open plot of land at O’Dell and Spine Roads for a central park downtown.  This land is owned by Boulder Housing Authority and is projected to have 40 affordable housing townhomes built on it.  We walked along Eaton Park trail to see all the undeveloped land that could be developed into grassy fields and include a play structure.  They both agreed this should be developed by the city.  We also viewed Heatherwood Park which is a triangle of undeveloped land owned by the city.  Aaron and Tara were both very appreciative of the tour and of our requests submitted before the Sept 10 budget study session meeting.  We thank them for their time to view Gunbarrel and wish them luck in the upcoming election for Boulder City Council.

This free service will make it easier than ever for the more than 9,800 Gunbarrel employees and 11,500 Gunbarrel residents to get around. RIDE Gunbarrel will provide a reliable first- and last-mile connection to​ existing and future bus stops as well as direct access to key destinations within the service area.

Serving a 4.4-square-mile zone in Gunbarrel and unincorporated Boulder County, RIDE Gunbarrel links seamlessly with local and regional transit options— including RTD Route 205, the BOLT, and the future CO 119 Diagonal Flyer BRT. Whether you’re commuting to work, running errands, just visiting, or connecting to regional transit services, RIDE Gunbarrel will make getting around simple, fast, and convenient.

RIDE Gunbarrel service start date range is mid-September to mid-October. Vehicles are ordered and they are building the scheduling app.

The goal is to better separate cyclists from cars on Jay and Spine roads. Work to start in Fall of 2026. The Lobo trail extension project includes the section from the Cottonwood Trailhead on the south side of Jay Road (just east of the Diagonal) to the Lobo Trailhead on the east side of Spine (just south of Wellington Road). The extension will run on the south side of Jay Rd and west side of Spine Rd.
